That’s a band I love. But none the less, it fits. I’m new to the Portland area. Already made a great friend from a blind date. Living in a remote area, very quiet, where I’m not allowed to have guests, ever. Weird. Anyway, it’s quiet and great for studying. Boring but best for slumber. Except for the loud obnoxious sound of my ears ringing LOUD that is ever present. Very rarely do I not hear it.
So a couple weeks ago, my friend Luis, convinced me to go to a meeting at a Portland Worksource Center. I even came back the following week. We signed up for a chance to win a lottery of funds donated through a government fund to basically see if people can be trained to change their life with better opportunities and great jobs as Software Developers, Network Admins and more.
I’m into my 8th week of living in Scappoose, OR. I’ve worked some, started a courier job, driven over 1000 miles at least between exploring and getting lost, even with my GPS. Been to the ocean twice. Need to go again soon. I’ve made a couple of acquaintances and am already working towards a BootCamp to learn 11 languages in a matter of 4-6 months while working part-time. Didn’t see that coming.
So much is happening pretty fast. This is intended to show the trials and tribulations, fun and not so fun, parts of being new in this industry, but older in the world. I am 53. And for some odd reason have chosen this age to learn coding. Ya, crazy woman!
